Catherine O’Neill Thorn is the executive director of Art from Ashes. Catherine has empowered high-risk youth through therapeutic poetry since 1994. She founded Art from Ashes in 2003.

Since, the organization has grown to include poetry and arts workshops, weekly poetry sessions and open-mics; and work with residential treatment centers, day treatment programs, probation departments, high schools, youth groups and day camps.

In this podcast, Thorn talks about the therapeutic power of words and the deep healing they provide during the organization’s workshops.
